November 16th, 2023, we took a proverbial bite out of hunger by driving a dump truck full of food over to a building we renovated, the OHI Food Pantry in Brewer. After unloading, cataloging, and sorting the food the final tally came in over 1200 pounds of non-perishables! We also heard from the manager, Karen that our arrival was quite literally just in the nick of time….Not only were they as low as they’ve ever been on food, this was the largest donation they’ve received this year! But don’t let that discourage you, no donation is too small and every donation is greatly appreciated. If you have non-perishable food, reusable shopping bags, or cardboard boxes that you would like to donate they would love to see you too! Things like pasta, sauce, and canned goods are always near the top of their list of things they need the most.
