Project Details

Location Castine
Project Cost $3.8 Million
Owner Maine Maritime Academy
Architect WBRC Architects/Engineers
Delivery Model Negotiated

Maine Maritime Academy had a need for additional dining and service areas for their Castine Campus.

The result was the Student Union, which included the renovation of existing service and dining spaces and added three new dining spaces. The facility also included an 80-seat multi media lecture hall, classroom, breakout rooms, a new lobby and a larger more central staircase that helped to improve the flow patterns of the building.

Nickerson & O’Day was brought in during the design development stage and completed the project 20% ahead of schedule and $40,000 under budget.
